Jaylyn Sherrod

Personal: Sherrod is the daughter of Tamika Williams and Micheal Sherrod. She earned her undergraduate degree from Colorado in sociology in 2022. She also received a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Colorado in 2023. She completed a master’s degree in criminal justice in December 2025. She has a dog named Jiggy. She also participated in karate and track and field as a child. She enjoys traveling, going to museums, and Lego. She lists meeting Megan Thee Stallion as a time when she felt starstruck. Her proudest accomplishment is earning three college degrees. She knows American Sign Language.

2025 Season: Sherrod fashioned 3,193 leaderboard points during her first Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball season. She tied for eighth in the circuit with 2,820 win points. She was a starter in 7 of 11 games who finished fourth in the league with 29 quarter wins. Sherrod averaged 6.7 points and 2.4 rebounds per game. She shot 40.9 percent from the field. She registered three double-digit scoring performances. She tallied a season-high 13 points against Team Siegrist in the Week Two finale, converting 5 of 12 shots from the field and 2 of 3 free throws. She opened Week Two by netting 11 points with four assists and two rebounds against Team Harris. She scored 10 points off the bench against Team Colson in Week One after going 4-for-6 from the floor with a pair of three-pointers. She grabbed a season-high six rebounds against Team Bradford in the Week Four opener. She set a season high with 467 leaderboard points against Team Harrison on February 19.

Other Professional Experience: Sherrod is a two-year WNBA veteran who has played 36 career games. She appeared in 10 games as a reserve for the New York Liberty during the 2024 WNBA season. She averaged 1.9 points and 0.3 rebounds per game while helping New York win the WNBA title. She scored a season-high eight points against Atlanta on September 19, 2024. She also contributed five points against Dallas on September 12, 2024. She saw action in 18 games with New York during the 2025 season before being signed by Minnesota on August 9, 2025. She played in eight games as a reserve for the Lynx.

International Experience: Sherrod was one of 13 athletes selected to participate in the 2024 USA Basketball 3x3 Women’s National Team development camp.

At Colorado: Sherrod was a five-year letter winner at Colorado who ranks second in school history by playing in 140 games from 2019-24. She holds the school record by starting 133 career contests. She was an Honorable Mention All-America pick by the Associated Press and WBCA following the 2023-24 season. She is a two-time All-Pac-12 Conference honoree by the league’s coaches. She also claimed a pair of All-Pac-12 commendations from the league’s media members. Sherrod is a three-time Pac-12 All-Defensive Team honoree from the league’s coaches. She also received a pair of All-Defensive Team citations from the league’s media. She was a member of the 2019-20 Pac-12 All-Freshman Team. She was a top-10 finalist for the 2023 Nancy Lieberman Award. She was named the 2023-24 Sportswomen of Colorado College Basketball Player of the Year. She is eighth on the Buffaloes’ all-time ledger with 3,892 minutes played. She is one of three players in program history with 1,000 career points and 600 career assists. She ranks 14th in Colorado history with 1,483 career points. She dished out 645 career assists, which is good for second place on Colorado’s all-time chart. She led Colorado in assists in each of her final three seasons. She owns fourth place on the program’s career free throws made list with 441 while ranking third with 650 free throw attempts. She is fifth in school history with 274 career steals. She is the first-ever Alabama native to play for Colorado. She was a starter in all 34 games as a graduate student who averaged a career-best 12.8 points and 5.1 assists per game. She ranked third in the Pac-12 with 172 assists while adding 73 steals. She scored in double figures 21 times, including three games with 20 or more points. She led the Pac-12 by averaging 5.1 assists per game during her senior season in 2022-23. She also led the league with 78 total steals. She netted her 1,000th point of her college career against Washington State during the Pac-12 Tournament on March 3, 2023. She was a starter in all 31 games as a junior who ranked third in the Pac-12 with 55 steals. She averaged 8.1 points per game while adding 3.8 assists per outing. She appeared in just 12 games as a sophomore after starting 23 of 30 games during her rookie campaign in 2019-20. She contributed 9.9 points per game as a freshman.
