
Recap: Tyasha Harris Leads Team Harris to Dominant 93-73 Victory
NASHVILLE — Guard Tyasha Harris anchored five players in double figures with a game-high 21 points as Team Harris closed its Week Two schedule with a 93-73 victory over Team Nurse to begin Saturday’s Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball doubleheader at Nashville Municipal Auditorium.
The win elevated Team Harris’ record to 2-1, while Team Nurse closed the week with an 0-3 mark.
Harris, who posted her second 20-point game of the season, secured MVP 1 accolades and 668 leaderboard points after knocking down 7-of-10 shots from the floor, including a 4-for-6 effort from three-point range, while adding four rebounds and three assists.
Guard Lexie Brown followed with an MVP 2 performance by contributing 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field in addition to a perfect 5-for-5 at the charity stripe. The former Duke standout claimed 642 leaderboard points after adding five steals.
Center Elizabeth Williams completed the Game MVP sweep for Team Harris in the victory after nailing down MVP 3 notice. She narrowly missed a double-double after notching 12 points with nine rebounds and a pair of blocked shots, giving Williams 555 leaderboard points.
Captain Kia Nurse paced her squad in the loss by pouring in 18 points with eight rebounds and seven assists. Guard Sydney Colson added 11 points, while guard Kierstan Bell pitched in 11 markers on 4-of-6 shooting from the field.
Guard Evina Westbrook contributed her first career double-double with 10 points and a career-high 11 rebounds.
KEY MOMENT
Team Harris, which never trailed in the contest, sprinted to a 15-2 lead in the game’s opening three minutes by converting five of its first seven attempts. The squad led by as many as 26 points in the third quarter and didn’t trail by fewer than 13 points after the intermission.
LEADERBOARD IMPACT
Brown and Williams rose into the top four spots on the Week Two leaderboard in the No. 3 and No. 4 positions, respectively. Guard Rebecca Harris, who added 12 points and six rebounds in the victory, surged up the weekly standings by 20 spots after her 444-point effort.
