SPARKS, Md. — Attacker Sam Apuzzo is widely known as one of the best offensive players in the history of Athletes Unlimited Pro Lacrosse. But, in Thursday night’s meeting between Team Apuzzo and Team McCool, it was her teammates who provided the offensive spark.

Rookie attacker Izzy Scane led the charge with a four-goal outburst as Team Apuzzo secured a 10-6 victory over Team McCool to close out the night’s action at USA Lacrosse Headquarters.

Apuzzo, who earned MVP 2 honors for her efforts, collected a game-high nine draw controls and added an assist to finish with 193 leaderboard points. Scane, meanwhile, garnered MVP 3 distinction and 168 leaderboard points after posting her second hat trick in the last three outings.

While Scane paced the offense, rookie defender Emily Nalls piloted the Team Apuzzo defense and secured MVP 1 honors after contributing four draw controls, three ground balls, and a caused turnover. Goalkeeper Kady Glynn added six saves in the victory.

Rookie attacker Sydni Black guided Team McCool with two goals, while team captain Marie McCool chipped in a goal with an assist. Goalkeeper Caylee Waters stopped 10 shots for Team McCool, which was outshot by a 31-24 margin.
