For the second straight week — and the third time this season — an Atlanta Vibe player earned Pro Volleyball Federation Player of the Week honors. This time, setter Marlie Monserez receives the nod after a career performance in the Vibe’s PVF-record 11th consecutive win. The PVF Player of the Week honor has now gone to an Athletes Unlimited Pro Volleyball alum for five straight weeks, highlighting the depth and competitiveness of talent across the league.

In Atlanta’s three-set road sweep over first-place Omaha on Saturday, Monserez dished out 46 assists, the most ever in a PVF three-set match. This performance topped her previous record by 10. Monserez’s pinpoint setting led to a .345 team hitting percentage, with three players hitting over .500, which included herself, showcasing both her decision-making and her hitters’ efficiency.

What sets Monserez apart as a setter is her vision, poise under pressure, and ability to elevate the play of everyone around her. She has a natural feel for the game and consistently reads defenses in real-time, adjusting her decisions on the fly to put her hitters in the best possible position to score. Her leadership on the court and consistent communication bring calm and confidence to her team in high-stakes moments.

Monserez now ranks No. 2 in the league in assists per set (10.61) and No. 3 in total assists (849), placing her sixth all-time in PVF single-season assists. Last season, she earned Second-Team All-PVF honors with 784 assists, 233 digs, and 51 kills across all 24 matches, and now she’s on track to surpass those marks this year.

With the Vibe clinching a spot in the PVF Playoffs, they now aim for a 12th straight win when they host the Grand Rapids Rise on Saturday, April 26 at 8 p.m. ET. Fans can catch the action live on FS2. You can expect to see seven AU players in the matchup.
