Meet the 6 Draftees from the 2023 Volleyball College Draft

Athletes Unlimited Volleyball hosted its 2023 College Draft on Monday evening in which six collegiate stars were invited to partake in Season 3.

The event placed an exclamation point on a number of announcements recently made by the women’s professional volleyball league, including that Bell Bank Park in Mesa, Ariz. will host its 2023 season.

Meet the six draftees invited to compete in October.

Brooke Nuneviller, Outside Hitter, University of Oregon

Brooke Nuneviller finished her Oregon career with 1,530 kills and 2,020 digs, becoming the first player in Pac-12 Conference history to tally 1,500 career kills and 2,000 career digs. She is the first three-time All-America selection in program history and a three-time All-Pac-12 Conference honoree. 

Grace Frohling, Opposite/Setter, University of San Diego

Grace Frohling is a four-time First-Team All-West Coast Conference selection and was named WCC Freshman of the Year in 2019. She led San Diego to its first-ever NCAA semifinal berth in 2022. In 81 matches with the Toreros, she posted 938 kills, 327 digs, and 92 aces.

Gabby Blossom, Setter, University of San Diego

Gabby Blossom transferred to the University of San Diego after spending her undergraduate years at Penn State, where she had 3,271 assists, 865 digs, and 76 aces. She earned two second-team All-Big Ten selections in 2019 and 2020.

In her graduate year with the Toreros, she had 310 assists and was named 2022 West Coast Conference Setter of the Year. She also received 2022 First-Team AVCA honors and led the team to an NCAA semifinal berth.

Katie Lukes, Outside Hitter, University of San Diego

Katie Lukes ranks 7th in San Diego history with 1,359 career kills. The 2022 WCC Player of the Year guided the team to the NCAA semifinals in 2022 alongside Blossom and Frohling. She is a four-time All-West Coast Conference selection and received two First-Team honors.

Danielle Hart, Middle Blocker, University of Wisconsin

Three-time All-Big Ten Conference selection Danielle Hart played in 112 matches for the Badgers from 2017-2022. She led the team to four Big Ten Conference titles and three Final Four appearances, including the 2021 NCAA Championship. The middle blocker posted 596 kills and 416 blocks in her Wisconsin career.

Madi Kubik, Outside Hitter, University of Nebraska

Madi Kubik finished her Nebraska career with 983 digs and 1,264 kills, which ranks 13th all-time in program history. She was named a Third-Team AVCA All-American in 2021 and received Big Ten Freshman of the Year honors in 2019.

 

Ahead of the Fall season, a team of Athletes Unlimited Volleyball players will play against some of the nation’s top collegiate programs during the Exhibition Tour. The Tour begins on March 25 at Ohio State University and runs through April 21. The schedule and broadcast information for select matches can be found here.
