It’s no secret that the Atlanta Vibe is one of the top teams in the opening season of the Pro Volleyball Federation. They’ve bounced back and forth with Omaha for the No. 1 spot in the standings and their latest wins pushed them to tie for first through Week Five.

Hitting efficiency was on display in their latest performances led by Leah Edmond.

The Vibe started the week against the Supernovas, the team that has given them their biggest challenge in matchups. Omaha swept in three sets (25-22, 25-20, 25-22) on Thursday night, but Atlanta did not let the loss affect their upcoming games. Atlanta took their offense up a notch for one of the best collective performances so far this season.

They picked up two straight 3-0 sweeps taking down the San Diego Mojo on Saturday night and the Vegas Thrill on Monday.

Edmond led the team offensively in both matches, finishing with 22 kills on 41 swings against San Diego. Against the Thrill, they kicked it into another gear: they held Vegas to just 16 points in the first set. It’s the fewest points scored by an opponent in the opening set against Atlanta so far this season.

Edmond did not have a single error or blocked hit during the entirety of the first two sets in her 19 attempts – she had a .550 attack percentage (11 kills).

Atlanta finished with a season-low six attack errors in the match plus a season-best .309 hitting percentage. They are now the only team with three sweeps so far this season.

Edmond and the Vibe have a couple of days off and just one match in the upcoming week. They’ll host the Vegas Thrill, this time in their home arena at 7 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. CT on Saturday, March 9.
