Osterman to throw out first pitch at AU Pro Games at the Little League Softball World Series
Softball legend Cat Osterman will be on hand for a major milestone in the sport’s history next week, as she will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the first-ever “Athletes Unlimited Pro Games at the Little League Softball® World Series” event.
In the middle of its championship season, Athletes Unlimited will relocate its entire roster and staff from the Chicago area to the home of the Little League Softball World Series in Greenville, North Carolina, and stage a doubleheader at East Carolina University’s softball stadium on Wednesday, August 9 beginning at 4:30 p.m. ET, with both games televised live on ESPN2.
In addition to being the inaugural Athletes Unlimited Softball champion and a member of the organization’s Advisory Board, Osterman is also enshrined in the Little League Hall of Excellence.
Osterman will participate in a press conference at 12 p.m. ET on August 9, along with current Athletes Unlimited Softball star Kathryn Sandercock and executives from Athletes Unlimited and Little League, just one of multiple press opportunities over the course of the two-day event.
Any media planning to cover the interaction with Little League athletes must have a LLSWS credential and adhere to the LLSWS Media Guidelines as outlined at LittleLeague.org/WSMedia.
