Brooke Nuneviller made her presence known at home and on the road this week in the Pro Volleyball Federation. The Omaha Supernovas team captain and outside hitter recorded back-to-back double-double performances in the team’s win over the Vegas Thrill and Orlando Valkyries.

Omaha evened the score between Vegas after losing to the Thrill on Feb. 7 in five sets. It was a comeback victory (25-15, 24-26, 25-22, 25-19) for the Supernovas after dropping the first set.

Nuneviller led the way with a team-high 15 kills, 13 digs, two aces, and one block.

Middle blocker Tori Dixon also had a stellar night with nine kills and three blocks. She was ultra-efficient, hitting .333; Dixon has hit above the .333 mark in four of five matches this season.

Fourteen was the magic number for Nuneviller on Sunday night as she recorded a match-high 14 kills and 14 digs in the Supernovas’ win over the Orlando Valkyries (25-13, 25-21, 21-25, 25-20).

In her postgame interview, Nuneviller credited setter Sydney Hilley for creating space and uneven matchups at the net.

“I think my setter gave me four one-on-one blocks so I better put those to the floor,” Nuneviller said.

She also spoke on the team’s progress through the first four weeks of the season that have helped them earn a 4-2 record.

“I think we needed a few games, I think we needed to go on the road, I think we needed to bond,” Nuneviller said. “I think it takes great teams – match by match you should be getting better every time. I think this team has proven that. You saw our last three matches we’ve faced adversity well in sets, we’ve come back in sets, we’ve closed out sets where we weren’t necessarily doing that in the beginning, so yeah I think we’re getting better every time.”

Omaha hit .299 on the night for their best team hitting percentage since sweeping the San Diego Mojo.

Dixon added seven kills in the match along with five blocks. Setter Hilley posted 38 assists running the offense.

Nuneviller and the Supernovas will start a four-game road stand on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. ET in Columbus facing the Columbus Fury. They’ll close out the week in Orlando against the Valkyries on Sunday, Feb. 25 at 3 p.m. ET.
