AU Softball players Anissa Urtez and Amanda Chidester are engaged

Urtez shared a photo of the pair at Horseshoe Bend in Arizona on Instagram Wednesday, where Chidester popped the question. Urtez, who represents Team Mexico on the Olympic stage, and Chidester, who represents Team USA, began dating in 2018. At the time, both played for Scrap Yard Fast Pitch, and in 2019 went on to play in the NPF – Urtez for the Cleveland Comets and Chidester for the Chicago Bandits. Their playing careers were reunited in 2020 when the pair signed on to play in the inaugural season of Athletes Unlimited Softball.
