Alyssa Denham Announces Retirement from Pro Softball

Pitcher Alyssa Denham has announced that she will be retiring from professional softball.

Denham made her professional debut during the 2021 Athletes Unlimited Pro Softball Championship season after being drafted by the league. She has appeared in five seasons since, including two AUX competitions in 2022 and 2024.

She has made 41 appearances, including 24 starts, with a 2.38 ERA, a 15-3 record, and 73 strikeouts. She became the first player in AU Pro Softball history to earn medalist honors in back-to-back years, finishing second in 2022 and 2023.

Denham also competed with Toda Medics in the Japan Diamond League in 2023. She helped Team USA to a gold medal at the 2022 WBSC Pan American Championships. 

The Arizona alum posted a 1.92 career ERA and 52-18 record with the Wildcats with 367 strikeouts. She received Third-Team NFCA All-American honors as a fifth-year senior. She was also a two-time Third-Team All-Pac-12 performer in 2018 and 2019. She competed at Louisiana in her freshman year and was named Sun Belt Conference and Louisiana Sports Writers Association Freshman of the Year in 2017.
