Defending champion Dejah Mulipola has re-signed to compete in the fourth championship season of Athletes Unlimited Softball as well as the second edition of AUX Softball.

Mulipola won the 2022 championship following the closest race in the three-year history of Athletes Unlimited Softball, which went down to the season’s final day. She concluded the year leading the league in the following statistical categories: batting average (.432), on-base percentage (.569), slugging percentage (1.182), home runs (9), RBIs (19), and stat points (632). She is the first-ever triple-crown winner in league history.

She also became the first position player to finish atop the leaderboard and joined pitchers Cat Osterman (2020) and Aleshia Ocasio (2021) as champions.

“It’s exhilarating for me to be returning to Athletes Unlimited for my third season. I have been looking forward to this since the final game of last year. After such a memorable 2022 journey, I am thrilled to see what is in store for season four and also play in AUX,” Mulipola said. “I know there is a buzz about ‘defending the title,’ but this summer, it is a fresh slate to climb the mountain to the top again.

“I am most looking forward to meeting the rookies and taking in all the special little moments that come with this sport like continuing to grow the game and inspiring the little girls in the stands or the fans on TV.”

Mulipola will be joined by fellow medalists Alyssa Denham (Championship Season) and Haylie McCleney (AUX & Championship Season).

Denham finished second on the 2022 leaderboard with 1,720 points. She recorded a perfect 6-0 record with two complete games and a shutout. Hitters averaged just a .217 average against her and she struck out 27 batters. Her ERA was a league-best 1.94.

McCleney, who earned 1,650 points, finished third in Season 3. She ranked second in hits with 20 in 54 at-bats, including six doubles and two home runs, and posted a .370 average.

The fourth championship season of Athletes Unlimited Softball takes place July 28-August 27. The five-week season will feature 60 of the world’s best professional softball players competing for more than $1 million in compensation.

Created in 2022 as an expansion of Athletes Unlimited Softball to provide more playing opportunities and compensation to athletes and more pro softball for fans, AUX Softball will take place June 12-27. The fast-paced, condensed two-week season will feature 42 players competing for more than $300,000 in compensation.
