Erin Coykendall
Biography
Personal: Coykendall is the daughter of Scott and Jennifer Coykendall. She majored in communications at Northwestern and was born in Rochester, N.Y.
2024 Season: Coykendall was one of 16 players selected in Athletes Unlimited Pro Lacrosse College Draft.
At Northwestern: Coykendall was a five-year letter winner at Northwestern. She started 83 of 87 games for the Wildcats from 2020-24 and was a starter in every game over her final four seasons. Coykendall accumulated 368 career points, ranking second in Northwestern history and sixth in NCAA Division I history with 197 career assists. She also notched 171 goals during her career. Coykendall was a two-time IWLCA First-Team All-America selection and received First-Team All-America plaudits from USA Lacrosse Magazine as a graduate student. She also collected Second-Team All-America accolades from Inside Lacrosse. Coykendall garnered First-Team Big Ten Conference status in each of her final three seasons and was one of three Wildcats to register 100 or more points during the 2024 season. She was a starter in all 21 games and totaled 101 points to rank third on the team, pacing Northwestern with 57 assists while adding 44 goals. Coykendall dished out multiple assists in 13 of 21 outings, including a seven-assist effort against Penn in the NCAA Tournament. She also added four goals against the Quakers to finish with a career-high 11 points. Coykendall scored at least one goal in 20 of 21 contests, including four games with four goals. She was a Tewaaraton Award finalist in 2023 after guiding Northwestern to the NCAA Division I title. Coykendall earned a starting assignment in all 22 games, notching 108 points, including a team-high 50 assists. She also collected 58 goals with at least one marker in every game. She scored a career-high six goals against Stanford on March 26, 2023, as part of a nine-point performance in a 20-9 victory. Coykendall also posted a four-goal, four-assist effort in a 21-14 triumph over Marquette on February 23, 2023. She registered 45 goals with a team-high 37 assists while starting all 21 games as a junior in 2022. Coykendall also fashioned a pair of five-goal showings against Marquette and Penn State and tallied a season-high five assists and nine points while leading the Wildcats past Stony Brook. She was a starter in all 16 games and led the Wildcats with 44 assists as a sophomore. Coykendall set a career high with nine assists against Rutgers on April 30, 2021, and notched three goals with four assists against Penn State. She appeared in all seven games with three starts during the COVID-shortened freshman campaign, dishing out nine assists while scoring three goals.
