Andie Aldave
Biography
Personal: Aldave is currently working as a graduate assistant with the North Carolina women's lacrosse team. She earned her Master's degree in sports administration in May 2023 and received her bachelor's degree in management consulting from Notre Dame in 2021. Aldave comes from a lacrosse family, with her sister Maddy playing lacrosse at Johns Hopkins from 2013-2016 and her sister Paige playing lacrosse at Florida from 2016-2019. Her father, Rob, competed on the swim team at John Carroll.
2022 Season: Aldave joined the Athletes Unlimited roster as an injury replacement during Week Four. She started all three games during the final series of the season and scored her first goal as a professional in her debut against Team Johansen on August 11. Aldave also recorded three assists over the final two games.
International Experience: Aldave competed on the United States Women's Under-19 Team in 2015. The team finished second at the U-19 World Championship in Edinburgh, Scotland. She played alongside current Athletes Unlimited athlete Sam Apuzzo and former Athletes Unlimited athletes Lindsey Ronbeck and Kerrigan Miller. Aldave was also invited to the U.S. Women's National Team tryouts in 2021.
At North Carolina: Aldave was a member of the 2022 NCAA Championship team at North Carolina. She transferred from Notre Dame and played as an attack with the Tar Heels after mostly playing in the midfield with the Fighting Irish. Aldave started in 19 out of 22 games for North Carolina and was the team's fifth-leading scorer with 63 points, including 51 goals and 12 assists. She had 15 multi-goal games and 18 multi-point efforts. Aldave's career-high came when she scored six goals against Louisville on March 13, 2022. She also contributed four goals in a victory against No. 1 Boston College on March 20, 2022.
At Notre Dame: Aldave played in 63 games from 2018-2021 and earned four letters. She tallied 113 goals with 49 assists with the Fighting Irish. As a senior, she led Notre Dame with 82 draw controls, including a season-high 12 draws against Louisville on April 24, 2021. Aldave received First-Team All-America honors from Inside Lacrosse after scoring 17 goals with six assists in seven games during the COVID-shortened 2020 campaign. She also had a streak of scoring four goals in three consecutive games from February 16 to March 1, 2020. Aldave started all 19 games as a sophomore and broke the Notre Dame single-season record with 135 draw controls. She earned First-Team All-Atlantic Coast Conference and IWLCA First-Team All-Region honors during her sophomore campaign. As a freshman, Aldave started all 19 games and set the Notre Dame single-game record with 11 draw controls against Stetson on February 18, 2018. She led the Fighting Irish with 98 draw controls during her rookie season while ranking second on the team with 31 goals and 45 points.
